Audrey McKenzie- Audrey is a 2017 graduate of Hope College! She graduated with a major in Language Arts Elementary Education and English as a Second Language. She spent her first three years teaching middle school math in the Dominican Republic at Santiago Christian School and taught 4th grade last year at Northview. She enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as traveling, being outside, and being at the pool or beach. Audrey is excited to be back in Michigan for the summer for her ninth year of camp living out and sharing her love for Christ.
Clay Fransisco-Clay graduated from Calvin College in 2019 with a degree Secondary Math Education. He is currently a teacher at Sparta Middle School for 6th and 7th grade math. In his free time he enjoys leading Young Life, coaching basketball, baseball, and football, as well as playing golf, hiking, and traveling. He is in his 3rd summer at Kids Rock and can't wait for this summer to get rolling. He is looking forward to seeing all the awesome kids again!
Emma Gontjes- Emma attended Dutton Christian Elementary and Middle School, is a 2018 graduate of South Christian High School, and is going to be starting her junior year at Calvin University this fall. She is majoring in Early Childhood Education and Math. She enjoys spending time outside, hanging out with family and friends, and traveling. Emma is super excited to spend another summer working at Kids Rock Camp with such an amazing staff and kids. She is eager to share her love and passion for Christ with the kids this summer
Gabriel Kruisenga- Gabriel (Gabe) graduated from Thornapple Kellogg High School in 2017 and is currently a student at Grand Valley State University where he is looking to earn a degree in secondary education, with an emphasis in group social studies, and a minor in PE. Gabe will begin his first year here at Kids Rock Summer Camp, and as a future teacher, is looking forward to spending time and interacting with kids. He is very passionate about spending time outdoors and loves to participate in almost any sport or activity.
Kennedy Geiger- Kennedy is SO excited to be back at camp for another summer, and cannot wait to hangout with the campers! She will be in her final semester at Calvin University where she is majoring in both Elementary and Special Education. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach, running, biking, and eating lots of ice cream! Kennedy is excited for a summer filled with lots Jesus and joy!!
Hannah Syme- Hannah is pumped for her first summer with Kids Rock Summer Camp! She attends Alma College and is studying elementary education and integrated sciences. At Alma, Hannah is a captain on the basketball team as well as a leader in the ASAP mentoring program. She also enjoys working with the sports information crew and teaching water aerobics. Hannah loves to be active and enjoys arts and craft activities. She is so excited to see what this summer has in store!
Jaymes Gontjes- Jaymes attended Dutton Christian Schools, South Christian High School, and graduated from Calvin College in 2018. He just completed his second year of teaching Social Studies at Cityside Middle School in Zeeland, MI. He enjoys coaching football and track, and playing guitar and drums in his spare time. He is excited for another awesome year at camp to continue building relationships with campers, encouraging people to know Jesus, and having a blast all summer long!
Adam Rearick- Adam is a 2020 graduate from South Christian High School. Adam did volunteer work as a leader for us for two years. He is going to be attending Grace Christian University in the fall of 2020. Adam Is a God-fearing man and is very excited to show the campers a great time by showing them who God is and what His plan for them is. He is going to be playing basketball at GCU. Sports plays a big role in Adam's life. He has played sports his whole life and has found great joy playing with kids and having fun with them. Seeing kids smile and laugh brings great joy in Adam's heart. He is beyond excited to be at Kids Rock Summer Camp.
Justin Phillips- Justin graduated from Kent City High School. Justin then went on to Hope College where he majored in Secondary Education. Justin is teaching and coaching football at Lowell High School. When he is not doing that, Justin enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs or golfing. He has an incredible passion for working with kids and is very excited to be back for another summer at Kids Rock!
Carley Van Swol- Carley is a recent graduate from Hope College with Physical Education and Spanish majors and a minor in Health. At Hope, Carley participated in intramural sports, broadcasted sporting events, as well as being a leader with the Special Ed ministry at a local church. Last year she lived in Sevilla Spain for a semester and got the chance to see different parts of the world. She has a big heart for kids, sports, traveling, and Jesus. This is her fourth summer at camp, and she’s so excited to build relationships with the kids and have fun!
Jessica Kirchhoff- Jess is really excited to be back at Kids Rock this summer! She just finished her first year of teaching 5th Grade at Allendale Christian School. She is a 2020 graduate of Grand Valley State University with majors in Elementary Education and English. Jess enjoys spending time with friends and family, running, and going to the beach. She can't wait for another summer filled with Jesus, kids, and fun!
Jessica Bongiorno- Jessica Bongiorno is a senior studying Early Childhood Education at Calvin University. She plays outfield on the Calvin Softball team. She is from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, close to Chicago. She has two younger sisters, Kayla (18) and Annie (12). For fun, Jess loves being outside, playing softball, listening to country music, playing with her dog (Ginger) and being with friends and family. She is very excited to be a part of Kids Rock Camp this summer!
Mikayla Battjes- Mikayla graduated from South Christian High School in 2016 and Calvin University in 2020. Mikayla has a degree in both elementary and special education. She just finished up her first year teaching at Hudsonville Christian School as a 2nd grade teacher. Next fall she will be staying at Hudsonville Christian, but moving up to 5th grade! She enjoys spending her free time volunteering as a Young Life leader at Grandville High School, playing tennis and golf, going to the beach, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Mikayla is passionate about kids, Jesus, and building relationships! She cannot wait for her fourth summer at Kids Rock! :)
Tori Roskamp- Tori is going to be a junior at Calvin University. She is a Recreational Therapy and Psychology major and plays volleyball on the Calvin women’s team. Tori’s family consists of her parents and older twin sisters. Tori loves to travel to new places and try new things. One of Tori’s favorite places to travel is Arizona because one of her greatest hobbies is hiking and Arizona is full of gorgeous mountain scenery (and it’s warm, another aspect Tori enjoys). When Tori graduates, she wants to work as a Recreational Therapist in an adaptive sports setting.
Gabby Timmer- Gabby attended Dutton Christian School Elementary and is a graduate of South Christian High School in 2018, and now is in her Junior year at Calvin University. She is majoring in Physical Education K-12 and is hoping to be a PE teacher one day. She is also a member of Calvin Women's Basketball team. Gabby enjoys spending her free time playing basketball, hanging out with friends and family, and being outside enjoying the sunshine! She is super excited for her first summer at Kid's Rock Camp and can't wait to spend the summer sharing her love and passion for Christ!
