Benefits of Being a Camp leader:
Being part of the camp leadership program is a wonderful way for students to develop their leadership gifts. It is an opportunity to take on a leadership role in a positive learning environment with valuable job training. It is something that could be put on a resume for future summer job opportunities, and can meet the high school volunteer hours requirement. Most importantly, being a camp leader is fun!
Training and Mentoring
The camp leaders will meet several times per week with the counselors for training and mentoring about how to best perform their camp leadership duties. Additionally, camp leaders must be able to attend the camp leader training meeting.
Qualification Process:
All camp leaders must fill out the camp leadership application. Applications will be reviewed and the leaders and their parents will be notified of the outcome. Decisions will be made based on availability, application review, references, and the discretion of the camp director. Camp leader applications are due by March 15, and the first round of camp leader selections will be made that week. If we still have openings after March 15, we will continue to accept camp leader applications until all of our spots have been spilled. Feel free to contact the camp director at any time throughout the process with any questions you may have.
How much time do I need to commit to be a camp leader this summer?
On the camp leadership application, you will be able communicate the amount of time that you would like to be a camp leader at Kids Rock this summer. We have had camp leaders help out for 1-2 weeks, 1-2 days a week, or several weeks of the summer. We will try our best to accommodate your schedule. However, the scheduling of camp leaders takes many other factors into consideration as we build our schedule.
